DAWs and Aliada: Universal compatibility

Aliada works with any Digital Audio Workstation. We don’t care which one you use.

What does DAW-agnostic mean?

A DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is software for recording, editing, and producing audio. Aliada being DAW-agnostic means it works with all of them. No preferences, no limitations.

You can use Pro Tools while your collaborator uses Ableton. Or Logic. Or Reaper. Whatever. The files and metadata transfer between different DAWs without the usual headaches about compatibility and format conversion.

Here are some common DAWs that work with Aliada. This list isn’t exhaustive - if it’s a DAW, it probably works:

  1. Ableton Live - Known for session view and live performance features. Popular with electronic musicians and DJs.

  2. Pro Tools - The standard in professional recording studios. If you’re working in commercial music or post-production, you’ve probably used it.

  3. Logic Pro - macOS only. Comes with a lot of virtual instruments and effects built in.

  4. Studio One - Has Melodyne integration and a workflow that a lot of people find faster than other DAWs.

  5. FL Studio - Started as a beat-making tool, now a full DAW. Still especially popular for electronic music.

  6. Cubase/Nuendo - Steinberg’s professional DAWs. Cubase for music, Nuendo for post-production, though there’s overlap.

  7. Reason - Uses a virtual rack interface that looks like hardware. Different workflow from most other DAWs.

  8. Bitwig Studio - Newer DAW with modular routing and strong MIDI capabilities.

  9. Reaper - Lightweight, cheap, extremely customizable. Has a dedicated following.

  10. Ardour - Open source and cross-platform. Good option if you’re on Linux or want to avoid subscription models.

Why this matters

If you’ve ever gotten a project file you couldn’t open, or had to explain to someone how to export their stems in a format you can actually use, you know why DAW-agnostic matters.

Aliada handles the metadata and file management layer. Your DAW does what it’s good at. You don’t have to worry about whether your collaborator is using the same software as you.
